The College of Health and Medical Technologies - Al-Dour organizes an awareness campaign to drug control.
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Maqsood Adel Mahmoud, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College organized an awareness campaign on (drug control).
The campaign was implemented by:
• Mr. Alaa Ahmed Dakhil.
• Mr. Hussein Sarhan Musleh.
The target group was college students
The campaign aimed to:-
- Health Risk Awareness: Students are guided to understand the harmful effects of drug abuse on the body and mind, including serious physical and psychological effects and long-term health consequences.
- Promoting awareness of the social and personal effects: Emphasis is placed on clarifying the negative effects of drug abuse on social relationships, academic performance, and the career path of students, in addition to the negative effects on the family and society.
- Enhancing personal skills: This includes providing life and social skills that help students identify and confront psychological and social pressures that may lead to drug experimentation.
- Promoting Values and Principles: The goal seeks to promote values and ethical principles that help students make correct and responsible decisions regarding drugs and toxic substances.
- Encouraging positive behavior: Students are encouraged to adopt a healthy, active, drug-free lifestyle, and to promote fun and exciting alternative activities that promote a sense of well-being and belonging without resorting to drugs.
- Building alliances and partnerships: Organizing campaigns works to build partnerships with various stakeholders, such as schools, health institutions, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations, to enhance anti-drug efforts in an integrated and effective manner.
