
College of Health and Medical Technologies - Al Dour organizes a seminar entitled Good Diet for Athletes
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Maqsood Adel Mahmoud, the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a seminar entitled (Good Diet for Athletes).
It was conducted by Dr. Majid Hameed Abdul – and attended by some of the college’s affiliates.
This seminar aimed to ….
1- Improving physical performance by providing the body with appropriate energy.
2- Accelerate recovery after training and competition.
3- Enhancing muscle building and strengthening the body in a healthy way.
4- Preventing injuries by consuming nutrients that are essential for bone and muscle health.
5- Supporting overall health, including strengthening the immune system and maintaining an ideal weight.
The seminar came up with several recommendations:
1- Eat balanced meals that contain appropriate amounts of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats.
2- Focus on complex carbohydrates such as whole grains to provide sustainable energy.
3- Drink adequate amounts of water to maintain hydration and avoid dehydration during sports activity.
4- Consume protein after workouts to support muscle building and energy recovery.
5- Avoid processed foods saturated with unhealthy fats that may negatively impact athletic performance.
6- Consult a sports nutritionist to ensure a diet that suits the nature of the sporting activity and the body’s needs.
