Artificial intelligence in everyday life: applications and challenges in a college science course

Under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, Prof. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Prof. Maqsood Adel Mahmoud, the Continuing Education Unit at the College organized a scientific course in collaboration with the Department of Physical Therapy Techniques entitled: “Artificial Intelligence in Everyday Life: Applications and Challenges.”
The course was presented by Ms. Sima Amer Ghanam
and attended by some of the college’s staff.
The course aimed to:
1- Employ artificial intelligence to improve the quality of life in the fields of health, education, transportation, and services, and support scientific research through data analysis and acceleration of scientific discoveries.
2- Seeking to promote innovation and productivity to achieve sustainable development.
3- Developing human and educational capacities to keep pace with the digital transformation.
5- Building a knowledge economy based on artificial intelligence and cooperation between academic and research institutions.
The course resulted in several recommendations, the most important of which are:
1- The need to increase investment in scientific research and smart technologies, and to establish specialized centers for the development of artificial intelligence applications.
2- Supporting researchers with the necessary tools and data, and encouraging local and international cooperation in the field of joint research.
3- Ethical and legal frameworks should be established for the use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity should be enhanced, and community awareness should be raised to ensure the responsible and sustainable use of these technologies.
