How to obtain program accreditation
Under the patronage of Prof. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Assist Prof. Maqsood Adel Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the university, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Division at the college, held a seminar entitled “How to Obtain Program Accreditation,” presented by Dr. Muhannad Imad Majid, a lecturer at the college.
The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of how to obtain program accreditation for academic departments and the steps that precede the application process.
Based on the keenness of educational institutions to develop their academic programs and achieve institutional excellence, the seminar highlighted the mechanisms and requirements for obtaining program accreditation and explained the necessary practical and procedural steps, in addition to reviewing the most prominent challenges and how to overcome them in light of the rapid developments in the higher education sector, where program accreditation has become one of the most important criteria for quality assurance and improving educational outcomes, given its pivotal role in improving academic programs and enhancing their alignment with national and international standards. The seminar aimed to:
- Introduce the concept of program accreditation and its importance in improving the quality of higher education.
- Clarify the basic criteria for obtaining program accreditation.
- Explain the practical steps and procedures for applying for program accreditation.
- Enable participants to prepare accreditation files in accordance with the approved requirements.
- Highlight common mistakes during the accreditation process and ways to avoid them.
- Promote a culture of quality and academic accreditation within educational institutions.
