Green economy and transition to a sustainable working environment
Under the patronage of Prof. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University, and under the assist Prof. Maqsood Adel Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the university, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Division at the college and as part of its sustainable development activities, held a seminar entitled “Green Economy and the Transition to a Sustainable Work Environment,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Nour Amer Fadel, a lecturer in the Department of Optical Technologies.
The seminar addressed the concept of the green economy and the requirements for transitioning to it, as well as the economic, social, and environmental benefits of adopting transition policies and technologies and investing in natural resources (energy, water, etc.), in addition to the role of financial institutions and companies in supporting investment and programs to combat poverty and unemployment. A number of recommendations were discussed, most notably:
- The need for the effective use of renewable energy resources.
- The introduction of innovations and modern technology in the field of renewable energy and finding solutions to environmental problems.
- Achieving economic growth and promoting investment in renewable energy sectors.
- Launching new economic development projects that focus on the environmental dimension and pay attention to agriculture and green activities.
